As 2024 comes to a close, we take a look back on yet another year at Compuco. So much has happened! So let’s reflect on what’s been achieved, along with some teasers of what might be to come!
2024 has seen us keep on expanding CiviCRM’s functionality with some big pieces coming next year. But before then, we started the year with some major functionality being announced for Membership Extras over on CiviCRM.org. This is free to the CiviCRM community, and comes bundled by default with our SaaS version of CiviCRM - CiviPlus.
The first big news story of the year was thanks to a co-ordinated effort by Compuco supported by the broader CiviCRM community- for the first time CiviCRM charted on the annual Charity CRM Survey. And what an entrance! Best for affordability and second highest rated overall. We’re unbelievably proud of the community and all the hard work that resulted in this brilliant showing.
The other massive news was around D7 End of Life. Not happening until January 5th 2025 (so very close now!), this is massive for the Civi Community. We spearheaded an awareness campaign in the community, and helped present the numerous different options with a couple of different briefings on the topic. If you’re not sure how to proceed still, we recommend looking into D7 Never Ending Support ASAP. This is the perfect stop gap for keeping your system secure while evaluating your long term plans.
And last but by no means least, we ran 2 very well received Civi Meetups this year! On Core Membership, Membership Extras, and CPD at the start of the year. And just a couple of months back we explored Reporting in depth. We had hundreds of signups and attendees and great feedback that these presentations were and will continue to be useful resources to the community going forward.
We got out and about this year yet again! We were out at Elevate in March, MemberWise in May, Trade Association Forum Best Practice Exchange in September and 2 Association of Association Executives events - the World Congress in Graz, Austria in June, and the closer to home UK Congress just this last weekend in December!
We always have the most amazing time meeting with some amazing organisations, learning about their causes, and as we continue to attend these conferences year on year, catching up with old acquaintances and friends.
It’s been another great year for our clients, with some exciting new names coming onboard and some large projects being launched. We released a new case study this year all about our work with Disability Rights UK and overhauling their website to be more accessible. Another major piece of news came from UN Principles for Responsible Investment, finding out just how useful their community platform has been to them and how it has helped to encourage more responsible investments! To all our clients, thank you so much for being fantastic partners and we look forward to continuing to work with you next year!
And this is just a small snapshot of what’s happened. So many other changes have been happening behind the scenes. Fantastic new colleagues have joined, amazing projects are underway, and we’re all set for a stellar 2025.
